PROMOTING CIRCULAR ECONOMY FOR A GREENER ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Currently, the world is facing a serious threat of global warming, and as a result, more stringent environmental specifications are being introduced. In particular, the environmental impact of the construction sector through their whole cycle of production is not negligible. In order to minimize their impact on the environment, the transport sector is fostering the adoption of more sustainable concepts into the construction of roads infrastructures.
On 22 November 2017, the APSE conference: “Promoting circular economy for a greener road construction”, will be an opportunity for industries, infrastructure owners, National Road Authorities, policy makers and academia to learn about the last achievements that allow moving towards a circular economy model in the construction sector.
The workshop will also showcase the main achievements of the APSE project, and provide the opportunity for interested parties to meet members of the project team. The latest findings from the demo sections will also be presented.
This event would not have sense without the support of different institutions that have contributed somehow taking measures to promote the circular economy. Institutions that at the same time have made effort to achieve many of the objectives so far, each in a specific way, as is the case of public institutions, associations and other bodies, participants on the conference by their distinguished representatives.
