State-of-the art review of RAP and binder compatibility in the context of asphalt mixture design.: This review will summarise research previously conducted and the current understanding with regards to the physical and chemical characteristics of recycled asphalt planings (RAP), and their incorporation into new asphalt mixtures, with a particular focus on the compatibility of new and aged materials. [month 6]

Report on the bio-polymer design and analysis on its properties. Laboratory validation of the asphalt mixtures produced with the greener modified bitumen.: This report will include a complete characterization of the new bio-polymer designed, the modified bitumen produced and when combined with aggregates [month 12]

Bio-fluxing agents in combination with RAP.: Based on the research and analysis conducted in point 2.3, method of application of the bio-fluxing agents to the recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) will be developed. Increased limitation to the RAP content effectively working with bio-fluxing agent will be proposed. In addition, it will be determined procedure of operations with the virgin binder composed with bio-fluxing agent allowing to include higher RAP content and reduced amount of virgin binder. [month 12]

High grade sorting technologies for advanced C&DW processing and recycled aggregates selection.: This report will describe the results of the market search for both existing and prototype recycling concepts and methods in order to obtain the required quality levels of the recycled aggregates to be used mainly in sub-bases for road building. The focus will be on more advanced and high grade sorting systems as the best practical option. [month 12]

Quality protocol for the use of recycled aggregates.: This report will consist of an evaluation of the existing national certification schemes for both the technical issues as well as the environmental aspects of the application of recycled aggregates. The report will give a pre-normative description of an overall European certification scheme. [month 12]

Review of the requirements with which eco-innovative asphalt pavements must comply.: This deliverable will provide a summary of the requirements of pre-existing European standards relating to the construction of road pavements and the materials therein. A protocol will be established to ensure that any new materials produced in the course of the project conform to these pre-existing standards, at the anticipated level of trafficking. [month 9]

Optimize design of the eco-innovative pavement for the real applications selected.: DThis deliverable will recommend the most suitable asphalt pavement design for the construction of the demonstrators, based on software simulations. [month 18]

Report on the accelerated testing of the eco-innovative pavement.: This report will detail the findings of the accelerated loading trials designed to test sections of pavements containing novel materials alongside conventional control sections in TRL’s Pavement Test Facility. [month 27]
