ACCIONA awarded contract to widen one of Mexico’s main highways

ACCIONA Construction will widen and modernise part of Federal Highway 15, which links Mexico City with the State of Sonora on the northwest border with the United States. The projectwill cost 938 million Mexican pesos (about €42 million at current exchange rates) and involves around 30 km of highway between Ciudad Obregón and Guaymas

The building, which will push the boundaries of sustainability and technological innovation, has been designed to serve 68 million passengers a year
The project has a budget of more than 84.8 billion pesos (more than €3.9 billion).

ACCIONA Infraestructuras has won this award on three previous occasions, recognizing its leadership in the implementation of composites in construction and civil engineering: first in 2011 for the Almuñécar Footbridge in Madrid, the second in 2012 for the footbridge over the river Jucar in Cuenca, and the third one in 2015 for developing the first building façade panel with biological composites within the framework of the European R&D project ‘Biobuild’.

    

The rally is being held in Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina from 1 to 15 January.

The vehicle has proven the efficiency of renewable energy in top-level competition, having ended the last Morocco Rally in fifth place in its category.
